WHO WE ARE |

JC Publishers evolved from our experience dealing with our young daughter's year of cancer therapy. When we learned she would need chemotherapy, my wife and I looked for a book that would tell us what to expect in simple, easy-to-understand terminology. Finding no books that fit that description, my wife decided to write one. We formed JC Publishers so we could publish her book and maintain complete control. During the publishing process, I discovered a number of snares and pitfalls to avoid. I also became aware of the many online publishers who are willing to take advantage of new authors. I can tell you the "good, bad, and the ugly" about most of them. JC Publishers is dedicated to helping new authors get published without getting ripped off. Now we have two Websites. Our Cancer Support Website is dedicated to the 1.4 million people who are diagnosed with cancer each year. We provide help and support to families coping with cancer. Our primary focus, however, is ministry to churches through seminars and conferences. The following is an overview of our ministry experience: Ted Bowman has served as evangelist, pastor, associate pastor, Christian school principal and dean, as well as a public school teacher in the secular arena. A master carpenter and cabinet maker, he also has experience as a residential building contractor as well as a commercial construction superintendent. Judith had been a hairdresser for nearly twenty years when they met. As a teenager, she developed and implemented a puppet ministry while serving as children's church leader in her local church. She is an experienced hospitality hostess with strong leadership and organizational skills. Judith is also an experienced personal counselor. His first year out of Bible College, Ted walked the streets of downtown Chicago ministering to troubled youth. He and his wife have ministered often to Youth for Christ Clubs and spent a year as full-time counselors at Anchor House, a group home for abused and neglected teens in Auburndale, Florida. As a result, their ministry to youth has been greatly enhanced. This seasoned couple brings to local churches a sincere desire to win the lost while encouraging and spiritually equipping believers. Their ministry is highlighted by instrumental and vocal music that offers everything from God-centered praise and worship to old-fashioned Southern Gospel. Ted survived a brain stem stroke in 1995 with no long-term side effects. His neurosurgeon, reluctant to use the word miracle, said, "You were a nice surprise to us, and we can use a surprise like that once in a while." The head ICU nurse nicknamed Ted "The Miracle Man," and said, "There is no way he should be alive." Their seven-year-old daughter survived stage-four, terminal cancer in 1999, much to the surprise of her doctors. Their goal was shrinking the tumor to half-size within three months and then, surgically removing it. The highly malignant tumor disappeared within four weeks after diagnosis. Doctors had no explanation. In September, 2003, Judith had two discs miraculously restored in her neck. Initial x-rays showed a severe "S" curverture of her neckbone; post x-rays showed a normal neck. A car accident in May of 2000 had left her partially disabled. A “God is faithful” mindset permeates their message. ♦ Visit our Bible Definitions page.
